The Company and the Role:

The Company is an award-winning group of gastro pubs with rooms, many of their establishments have been awarded with accolades and they are very much a food focused company with each pub having its own identity.

This Gastro Pub situated just outside the Andover area and they are seeking a Head Chef on a full-time permanent basis to join there awarded wining kitchen brigade

Key Features of the Role:

- As The Head Chef you will need to have management skills to control and directing the food preparation process and any other relative activities.

- Have the ability to construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings. Approving and "polishing" dishes before they reach the customer.

- Everyone in the brigade, from the Kitchen Porter to the Sous Chef, looks to you for inspiration - and you'll have to hold your own with the front of house restaurant staff.

- Be a born leader who relishes taking responsibility for the running of the kitchen, but also knows when and how to delegate.

- Full driving licence and own reliable transport is required due to the location.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Be an existing Head Chef but the Company may consider a Senior Sous Chef / Sous Chef looking to make the next step in their career.
- Reliable, conscientious and punctual and will be a role model who immaculate in presentation and is comfortable talking out front with both our guests and teams
- Passionate about using fresh, seasonal and local produce
- Understands the local market and can write well put together and properly costed menus that suit the clientele and the brief for the pub.
- Able to motivate and train junior members of the team
- Be extremely organised, works well under pressure, has a flexible approach to working hours and leads by example.
- Able to adhere to company standards and procedures and can hit financial and management targets
- Has strong verbal communication and people skills and is able to communicate daily to the relevant departments
- Has an excellent working knowledge of HACCP and COSHH
- Has Level 2 certification in food hygiene.
