About the Director of Business Development Role:

This is a fantastic role for an intelligent, ambitious individual looking to develop a career in the exciting fast paced field of media sales. You will be assisting the growth of Citywire's Asia business through sponsorship sales to asset management companies in the region across print, online events and content. This will involve presenting Citywire's proposition via email, telephone and in face to face meetings to existing clients and new commercial partners. You should be an effective communicator able to confidently work with individuals at all levels of seniority. You will undertake a mix of account management and new business development, with a focus on selling and growing the Asia business. You will work closely with Citywire's audience development team, attending our events in Asia and maintaining a growing, working knowledge of industry affairs and client needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Director of Business Development role:

* Responsible for developing successful relationships with existing clients of Citywire Asia and developing new business leads coming into the market
* Managing the sales manager also based in Citywire's Singapore office
* Managing and maintaining positive relationships with existing clients and 3rd parties
* You will be expected to develop an excellent knowledge of Citywire and all its product lines - publishing, digital, data, events, content - and be expected to talk confidently about them
* You will develop a thorough understanding of the Asian asset management industry and be able to speak knowledgably to senior executives within the industry
* Assisting with day to day account management queries
* Developing new business opportunities - this will include phone calls, emails, and setting up and attending business meetings in Singapore and Hong Kong
* Attending events, networking with clients, and undertake associated administration and follow up

Requirements of the Director of Business Development Role:

* You will have at least 4 years sales experience in a client facing sales role.
* Experience working with media agencies and media sales knowledge is advantageous.
* Previous knowledge and having an interest in investment and asset management is essential.
* You will have a proven ability in driving sales, developing business and exceeding targets.
* A B2B background is idea but not essential.
* You will have demonstrated initiative, a willingness to go the extra mile and resilience in previous roles.
