Primary Purpose of Role

In this role the candidate will take responsibility for maintaining the Quality Management System in-line with the scope and content of the quality policy and objectives of the organisation; a system that must produce high quality products through the use of defined and auditable processes with the aim of delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparation and support of the Management Review
- Preparation and support of continued ISO 9001 Certification
- Internal ISO 9001 Audit Compliance
- Updates and distribution to the Quality Policy and Objectives
- Control of Risk and Interested Parties Registers
This role will place a heavy emphasis on taking the quality organisation forward over the next 5 years, identifying and integrating the benefits of best practice quality methodologies (6?, ISO TS16494) into the high level structure of an ISO 9001:2015 certified QMS. This role is challenging and may lead to overall responsibility for Management Systems and Audit Compliance for an ambitious candidate.

Key Behavioural Competencies:
The candidate must be highly self-motivated with the drive to be able to deliver continuous improvement across the organisation driven by the maintenance of a robust audit process.
They will have knowledge of driving root cause analysis and corrective and preventative action to ensure outcomes of quality investigations are well thought through and ensure issues are properly closed out. The candidate will be able to engage with tier 1 supplier to develop their capability and ensure that they remain compliant to the standards set by the company; to this end the Quality Systems Engineer may become the key point of contact for some supplier accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to procedure is maintained and that internal and external audit procedures and processes are robust
- Support the development of Statistical Process Control, 6??and?the adoption of Quality Control Plans in Operations
- Raise awareness of Quality within production and present data to support improvements in capability
- Work with the purchasing team to maintain & develop the supplier scorecard
- Writing technical reports and drafting of CAPA reports such as 8D and CAR to both customers and suppliers

Skills and Development:
The candidate will have experience in a quality control or assurance role at technician or engineer level and will look to develop skills in management, running of a QMS and coaching of staff. A detailed understanding of ISO 9001 is essential for the role, with understanding in manufacturing and quality processes such as MRP, Six Sigma and Lean being advantageous.
