Job Overview:

Our client currently has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a General Manager.

Main responsibilities of the General Manager:

As the General Manager you will be responsible for managing the day to day running of their hotel, maximising all sales opportunities and generating targeted profit whilst ensuring the provision of the highest standards of customer care.

Requirements of the General Manager:

The ideal candidate would possess outstanding team management skills, strong knowledge of HR practices and a good financial acumen. At least 3 years in a similar position is required along with knowledge of room management and food and beverage operations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading a team to achieve performance and operational targets.

Main Responsibilities of the General Manager:

* Generating and maintaining employee morale, motivation and development, consistent with an open and pro-active style of management.
* Recruit and retain the right employees keeping labour turnover low.
* Monitor key performance indicators and financial results for each Hotel department and planning corrective action where appropriate.
* Planning and implementing longer term strategies to enhance business potential for the Hotel in line with the Company Strategy.
* Ensure the Company Health and Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety and COSHH legislation is adhered to.
* Deal with employee relations issues professionally and legally.
* Communicate to the Company on a regular basis on the performance of the business successes and highlighting any potential risks for the Company.
* Coordinate action for selling initiatives in each department and monitor effectiveness.
