JOB TITLE:  Buyer/Purchaser

SALARY: Circa 28k depending on level of experience 

WORKING HOURS: Permanent, full-time

LOCATION: New Mills, Derbyshire

Our New Mills facility specialises in designing, manufacturing and finishing bespoke pulsation dampers to customer specifications in a wide variety of industries.
 
THE ROLE: The Buyer is a key role within the business and has varied responsibilities. You will liaise with various external suppliers to ensure all supply chain requirements are achieved and all associated records and paperwork are accurately completed.
 
Key responsibilities of the Buyer

- Purchases materials, equipment, supplies, and services of a specialised or complex nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates purchase orders within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Reviews and analyses purchase requisitions, investigates and develops sources of supplies, and reviews quotations.

- Issues purchase orders and confirms with the selected supplier the purchase order number, quantity, unit pricing, shipping terms, payment terms, due date at CoorsTek.
- Collating technical data books to accompany customer orders.

- Works with management to forecast supply budget and monitors closely to ensure that budget is met.
- Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
- Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory and production flow.
- Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
- Maintains manual or computerised procurement records.

- Stock control on bought in stock items.
- Processing and picking and packing Spares Orders, also producing C of C’s for said spares orders.
- General admin duties

THE CANDIATE:  The successful candidature for the Buyer role will have previous, recent experience in developing the supply chain in a technical and quality driven environment. You will have working knowledge of a computerised stock system and will need to be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and communicate professionally both inside and outside the organisation. All team members are required to be flexible and train in other tasks to help out when required.
 
Essential Criteria:

- Live within a commutable distance of New Mills , Derbyshire
- Driving licence and access to your own transport due to the remote location of the role
- Experience in purchasing is essential
- Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages, word , excel and outlook
- Experience of computerised stock control
