Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 17:00

Hill Cross Furniture was established in 2000, and is a family-run business based on a working farm in North Yorkshire. We were founded to fulfil the growing demand to supply and manufacture high quality, made to measure contract furniture to the hospitality and healthcare markets.

CAD Designer Responsibilities:

* Reporting to the Head of Projects you will be responsible for reading and understanding architectural drawings sent from clients/ designers requesting banquette seating or bespoke furniture
* Scale PDF drawings for quote preparation.
* Work within internal project team to provide detailed drawings when required in order to obtain a quotation from our suppliers.
* Where necessary and on request from the project manager, produce layouts and / or drawings of specific elements of bespoke items (this may happen pre or post order depending on the level of complexity).
* After order has been confirmed and site visit carried out, draw up 2D / 3D detailed plans (Archicad, Autocad and Solidworks) of the individual elements ready for sign off by designer. It is your responsibility to make sure that the items are fit for purpose.
* Send plans to the project team to achieve sign off.
* Upon order, draw up bill of materials highlighting any key information to processing
* Produce.gpm files for the CNC, created in Genio Software
* Work alongside the project manager and tech sales to make sure that every possible detail has been accounted for prior to sending job through to processing. Where site work is still to be completed, you are responsible for making sure missing design detail is highlighted to project co-ordinator.
* Where necessary work outside of your immediate project team to provide drawings / estimates for new bespoke projects.
* Re-touch images when required
* Any other reasonable duties as required

CAD Designer Requirements:

* Good working knowledge of CAD software
* Previous experience of using ArchiCad, AutoCAD or 3D Solid Works in a manufacturing environment
* Good understanding of furniture manufacture and materials including metalwork
* Team player with a flexible attitude allowing them to adapt to a growing business environment.
* Have excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
* Be resilient and able to work well under pressure
* Highly organised and the ability to prioritise a heavy workload
* Excellent interpersonal skills as the role demands effective communication both internally and externally at all times
* Attention to detail is extremely important as this post requires long spells of concentration
