Learning and Teaching Assistant
Stockport

Start date: ASAP, temp to perm contract

We are seeking a Learning and Teaching Assistant with strong literacy and numeracy skills and a professional approach to provide support to our partner school in Stockport. The Learning and Teaching Assistant with be supporting teachers and students in the classroom, covering a variety of learning activities. They will also be required to provide support to the wider school as an integral member of the Learning & Teaching team.

Day to day task, amongst others, will include:

* Establishing good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs;
* Being a member of a Teaching and Learning team that plans and delivers a key part of the curriculum for the students;
* Assisting in the preparation of learning materials and the learning environment, including the display of students' work;
* Supervising and supporting students, ensuring their safety and access to learning;
* Supporting the school’s values and ethos by contributing to the development and implementation of policies practices and procedures.

Our client school is located in Stockport, just a short drive from the M60 and easily accessible by public transport links. The school has over 600 pupils on roll and as mentioned in their most recent Ofsted report (2015) ‘behaviour of students is good’.

In their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school received ‘Good’ in all areas including leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching and achievement of pupils. In recent years, the school has made huge strides on their journey to becoming an outstanding school. They have a modern building with excellent facilities, they are focused on creating an environment that inspires students to take the necessary steps that will help them progress through.
