SEN Teaching Assistant - Wembley, Brent

Are you a special educational needs teaching assistant seeking an exciting new role within a mainstream Primary School? Are you patient, calm and personable? Do you have experience supporting children with a range of complex needs?

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant on the behalf of a reputable Primary School located in Wembley.

About The Role:

This is a full-time position to begin ASAP! You will be working on a one-to-one basis with a year one pupil who has an EHCplan for Autism and the pupil does have challenging behaviour. Your main responsibilities will include:

* Tailoring class activities to the needs of the pupil
* Using additional resources to assist the pupil with class work
* Encouraging appropriate social behaviour inside and outside the classroom
* Delivering one-to-one interventions
* Making observations and tracking pupil progress
* Providing feedback to classroom teacher, SLT and parents.

Ideal candidate:

* At least six months experience supporting an autistic pupil in a classroom based environment
* Trained in PECS or Makaton would be preferred
* Personable and friendly
* Good spoken and written English
* A valid DBS that is registered on the update service or willing to complete an application immediately
