Electronics engineer (Analogue & Digital) designing new products low power Embedded sensor technology. You will design PCBs using Proteus, as well as doing software development in Embedded C (Firmware) for low power, connected devices.

You will be working in a small, effective team as part of a large company, this is a fantastic opportunity to work across many technical areas from PCB design, firmware development, manufacturing documentation, prototype assembly and testing, small batch manufacture and post production support.

Working as part of a small dynamic team, the candidate will liaise with the existing electronic engineers, as well as mechanical and software engineers, to maintain and develop a range of world class sensing technology.

You will be able to investigate new technology, leave your own mark on projects and work in a varied role that will give you the tools and freedom to develop your technical and professional skills.

You will need proven experience in embedded systems development preferably with PIC micro controller devices.

Experience of sensor technology, MEMS, battery operated devices, digital communications and data transmission would be beneficial.

Key Skills:

* Good working knowledge of micro-controllers (8/16 bit PIC ideal)
* Experience of designing for embedded systems, ideally low power for battery operation
* Schematic capture and PCB layout in Proteus or similar
* Knowledge of designing for EMC compliance
* Ability to develop embedded firmware in C and assembly (ideally using MPLAB
* A good level of familiarity with digital communications (UART/I2C/SPI etc.)

Desirable skills:

* Experience of interfacing with real world, analogue and digital sensors (e.g. temperature, displacement, encoders, MEMS, data loggers, accelerometers, gyroscopes etc)
* Experience with wireless communications (Bluetooth & WiFi)
* Experience with producing appropriate levels of concise and accurate engineering documentation
* Experience working within quality driven engineering processes (ISO9001)
