VIQU are partnering exclusively with a global organisation in the West Midlands who are looking to hire a Head of IT PMO. In recent years our client has delivered an ERP programme, undertaken a large shared services project and outsourced some of IT to third party providers.

Looking forward our client has placed a significant level of importance to embracing digital technologies to help both themselves and their customers to improve processes and increase profitability. This is an exciting challenge that can make a huge contribution to the future business success and one that requires them to transform the way that they deliver IT projects & programmes. One element of this transformation is restructuring the company.

As part of the restructuring this Head of IT PMO role has been created in order to manage the delivery of IT investment projects. This is a new role and as such there is scope to shape and flex the role over time.

Key Accountabilities:

The principle accountabilities of the Head of IT Programme Management are:

* Create and Lead the UK&I IT PMO organisation, whilst ensuring a tight relationship to the global Programme Management organisation
* Negotiate with the business to determine the overall affordability of capital and resources.
* Design and operate a robust and comprehensive project/portfolio demand management process
* Create and implement processes, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and repeatable high-quality project delivery, and ensure alignment of these with the global organisation
* Develop criteria for prioritisation of demand within negotiated affordability to create the agreed portfolio of projects
* Procure project deliverables from suppliers and approve associated invoices
* Develop the levels of detail of scope, schedule, costs and resourcing throughout the project lifecycle from demand through launch and execution to completion
* Define and implement a Resource Management process including load and capacity planning for all key project skill groups
* Form, manage and continuously develop a high-performing and collaborative team, setting objectives, managing performance, developing potential and modelling behaviours
* Manage the performance of internal and supplier project resources to drive delivery of scope to schedule, cost and quality. Identify and fix underlying systematic causes of poor delivery
* Identify project risks/opportunities and ensure mitigation actions are put in place
* Design and operate a robust change management process
* Establish Project Sponsors and Governance and deliver reports and management information to effectively steer projects
* Summarising actual project performance and forecasts in the context of the overall portfolio, produce multi-year financial and resource forecasts, reflecting this in the IT plan/annual budgets and forecasts
* Define standards and repositories for all portfolio and project documentation

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following experiences:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business
* Experience of having led an IT PMO function, or the majority of the sub-functions within an IT Programme Management function
* Demonstrable track record of successful project delivery using both waterfall and agile methodologies
* Experience implementing agile methodologies
* Qualified in Prince 2 or equivalent - experience of gradually implementing and maturing project management standa
