Job Title - Maintenance Engineer

Location - Hatfield

Salary - �40,000 + 6% pension + Healthcare

Shift Pattern - 2 on 3 off, 3 on 2 off (2 weeks Days/2 weeks of nights) - 12-hour shifts


ATA Recruitment are currently working with a highly successful engineering business that turn over a massive �60million within the UK. They are specialists in the design and manufacture of fully automated warehouse systems turning over a staggering �700 million globally.

As a company they design, manufacture and install automated warehouse systems to some of the largest retail businesses in the UK, after installation they then have a permanent maintenance team who work on the clients site to service and maintain the equipment. They are due to open a brand new site close to Hatfield next year and are currently looking to build their 8 strong maintenance engineering team in anticipation of the site going live.

If you are a multi-skilled maintenance engineer who has an electrical qualification with exposure to working on 3phase systems, and are looking to work at a brand new, state of the art engineering facility that can offer excellent working conditions and great training then apply now for immediate consideration!

The Role

The role of Maintenance Engineer will involve:

* Working on a brand-new engineering distribution site which will go live in 2019.

* To start with you will be working on a Monday-Friday days shift where you will be involved in installation, testing and training for the new systems before they go live later on in the year.

* You will then move onto a continental shift pattern working 2's and 3's.

* Electrical & mechanical maintenance of automated systems such as conveyors, picking stations, storage & retrieval systems and shuttles.

* Doing regular walks of designated areas to do visual checks for damage and wear on equipment looking for basic issues that can be fixed - belts broken, sensors damaged and other issues that won't stop output).

* Electrically the role will involve working on motors, invertors & power packs etc.

* Mechanically the role will involve changing belts, rollers and bearings etc.

* The role will also involve some fault diagnosis on PLCs using a laptop.

* Carrying out planned maintenance schedules.

* Carrying out reactive, planned maintenance work.

* The role will be 50% mechanical & 50% electrical.

The Person

To be successful as a Maintenance Engineer you will need:

* A level 3 electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVW, HNC, HND, ONC etc.)

* Previous experience working on 3phase electrical systems, ideally this will be from some sort of automated environment.

* Happy to work on a continental shift pattern on both day and night shifts.
