Are you an Electrical Rolling Stock Engineer, looking to be part of an exciting new project?

This forward-thinking Organisation is bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the Rolling Stock sector, by developing systems and designs that would make use of emerging technologies to benefit passengers, the environment and the wider rail industry, as well as produce low cost, low maintenance rolling stock!

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You'll be an experienced Rolling Stock Electrical Engineer, with further understanding of Rolling Stock systems. You will have the ability to safely undertake electrical engineering activities to accomplish their successful completion to time, to budget and to the necessary standards. Determine requirements and implement solutions to satisfy customer demands and win future business.

ABOUT THE JOB

You will be working with customers to understand their requirements and be able to design solutions for the rolling stock. You will be designing and working with high and low-voltage electrical equipment, in particular 3-phase drives and motors, DC-to-DC converters, rectifiers / inverters, and IGBTs. You'll have sound knowledge and experience of power, traction and braking systems as applicable to railway rolling stock. You will be analysing energy flows and the implications for power, current, voltage and component sizing etc. You will be determining the control logic required for a given system and translate this into new electrical schematics. You will also be able to 'reverse engineer' an existing electrical schematic and analyse the logic. Experience of writing Technical Requirement Specifications, Test Specifications and Test Procedures.

THE REQUIREMENTS

* Engineering degree (with Electrical bias), or equivalent qualification(s).

* Chartered Engineer (IET or former IEE), or actively working towards it.

* Experience of electrical and electronic systems in a railway environment.

* Experience of electro-pneumatic systems would be an advantage.

* Thorough working knowledge of Railway Group Standards and railway practice in general.

* Experience of writing Work Instructions.

THE SALARY

* Salary is between �50,000 to �60,000 per annum depending on experience

* 25 Day holidays + BH
