Carer - physically disabled students in Secondary school - Lambeth

A secondary school is seeking staff to work with its pupils from January 2019. The school is an SEN school, therefore, they are seeking very experienced staff.

The right staff:

The right person is one who has extensive experience in supporting pupils with SEN. This includes Autism, Complex Needs, Severe Learning Difficulties, and physical disabilities.

Is punctual, proactive and energetic. It is essential that you are always on time, as the pupils rely on you physically for help. A happy and approachable attitude mean you can put pupils in the best mood and encourage them to learn. This is especially tough to do if you are not

You will build a connection with the children, learn very quickly what they need supporting on, and tailor your support according to this information.

You will have the right training on care; moving and handling, personal care, gastronomy and tracheostomy feeding.

About the school:

The school, based in Lambeth, provides secondary education for students who have a range of complex and inter-related learning needs. Students have severe learning difficulties or profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The building was built in 2008. It can accommodate 80 students between the age of 11 and 19. It has outstanding facilities, accommodating all SEN needs for the pupils. As the pupils have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, including physical disabilities, the facilities have been included precisely to offer the pupils the best opportunities to learn.

School hours are from 8:30am - 4pm. At times, you may be able to leave earlier, or stay later to help the children.

Starting date is 7th January 2019 - We will be interviewing for the position until it is filled.
