THE COMPANY / ROLE: Are you a highly accurate and organised individual with a genuine interest in the Construction industry and at least 1 years estimating experience?

Our client currently has a fantastic opportunity for an Estimator to join their newly created team, reporting to the Senior Estimator. This is a great opportunity for the right individual to develop a career with a fast growing and progressive company which has recently been BOPAS accredited. 

Our client was founded in 2017 with the directive of moving the housing market away from traditional build to more offsite construction projects, and are manufacturing modular homes and leisure units from their 1000m2 factory space in Peterborough. The company Chairman and CEO are father and son and come with a wealth of relevant skills and experience. They are well known and respected within the region as industry leaders and are continuously growing their team. 

As an Estimator you will work alongside the Senior Estimator, Buyer, Project and Production teams and will carry out a range of duties as highlighted below in what can be a reactive and fast paced environment. You will be required to be highly organized, accurate, efficient and capable of working independently on given tasks as well as working with the team. 
Key Responsibilities for the Estimators role in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire include :-

- Review incoming enquiries, establishing the full scope of works, liaising with sales/clients as necessary to resolve any queries
- Identifying specialist services, liaising with and obtaining subcontract and supplier quotes.
- Liaison with external suppliers and subcontractors for identified services ensuring that their quotations are fully compliant or suitably qualified.
- Compiling take offs and inputting into Excel based estimating system in order to produce an accurate quotation
- Producing specifications and schedules of fittings in order to provide a fully detailed bid package. Working with the team in producing tender deliverables as and when required
- Carry out value engineering exercises and specification reviews to provide best value for money and design solutions
- Cost Reconciliation and handover to Operations, Purchasing and Finance upon receipt of an order and developing estimates into full bills of materials

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Estimator role will need to have good knowledge or a background within Construction and have good knowledge of general Building regulations. You will also have at least 1 years experience in an Estimating role, be highly accurate and be someone who is detail orientated. Candidates will need to have good IT skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software such as Excel, and although not essential any experience using AutoCAD would be beneficial, as would any relevant building qualifications. Candidates should enjoy working in a high octane motivated and enjoyable environment and be able to work to deadlines in a reactive environment and must live within commutable distance to Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. 

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Estimators role :-

- Driven to deliver a high quality product 
- Takes pride in projecting a high level of customer service 
- Must have minimum of 1 years experience in an Estimating role or as an Estimator 
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office Software especially Excel is essential
- Background or good knowledge in Construction or Building industry and regulations
- An eye for detail and good accuracy skills essential
- Must be capable of working to deadlines and Enjoy working in a high octane, motivated and enjoyable environment
- Although not essential, experience using AutoCAD or holding a recognized building qualification would be an advantage
