If so, Rose Road Association are looking for experienced bank nurses to join their team in Southampton. We are looking for nurses with experience working with children with Learning Disabilities to provide respite, community outreach, domiciliary and playscheme care; supporting the children, young people and their families. You will be an enthusiastic and positive individual who has the ability to build strong working relationships in order to provide the best care and support.

We need you to be an experienced Band 5 Nurse / RGN or higher is for this role.

The Nurse Role

You will work with the Registered Manager to design and deliver a programme of generalised training in relation to health issues, (e.g. epilepsy awareness and theoretical issues relating to specific health care tasks) that takes into account the working hours of all staff.

This will include working in a way consistent with the principle of equal opportunities, giving each individual practical skills and social status that are valued within their communities, ensuring work practices promote anti-discriminatory attitudes and behaviour.

You will also be responsible for the writing and reviewing of policies and procedures that relate to the health care of children and young people and be expected to consider guidance from relevant bodies including The Royal College of Nursing, The Nursing and Midwifery Council, Ofsted, The Care Quality Commission.

To be able to play their part in the safeguarding of our young people.
Be an excellent communicator, through a variety of methods with the patience to allow others to communicate.
Be able to see people as individuals and develop personalised nursing plans
To be able to address any altered health care needs, maintain & promote general well being
Be prepared to answer or help in finding answers to all manner of questions and concerns from the young people, carers and parents.
Enjoy working as part of a team but be happy to be the only nurse working alongside and supporting care staff.
Be able to provide training and assessment for non-registered professionals.
Be able to provide clinical leadership within the team.
Be happy to be part of a team that provides a break for families whilst ensuring their child is safe and having fun away from home.
