We are currently seeking a CMF Solid Dose Process Technician to join PCI’s centre of excellence for drug manufacture in Tredegar. On a day to day basis you will perform technical operational activities within a Contained Manufacturing Facility, dispensing, preparing and testing pharmaceutical raw materials required for drug manufacturing and ensuring compliance with GMP and other policies and procedures.

The Role

As a PCI Pharma Services CMF Solid Dose Process Technician, you will work within a Contained Manufacturing Facility performing technical operational activities in relation to drug manufacturing. You will ensure compliance with agreed service levels and cGMP is delivered and will facilitate the continuous improvement of commercial and clinical projects for both internal and external clients.


Duties include:

Encapsulate product using capsule filling equipment
Dispense raw material utilising calibrated equipment
Prepare in bulk from pharmaceutical raw materials
Maintaining a clean working environment, cleaning, stripping down and setting up equipment
Unsupervised operation of pharmaceutical equipment for development, clinical and commercial operations
Perform IPC’s and physical testing to support manufacture of solid oral dose products
Recording of batch manufacturing data
Input into FD project work and promote the continuous development of these
Observe safe working practices in handling of materials
Comply with Company policies including HSE and environmental standards for the handling of potent formulation down to OELs of 0.01µg/m3
Working on a rota basis covering 3 different shift patterns in operation over a 24-hour period
Reporting to CMF Team Leader


Key responsibilities, skills and attitudes

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes within a pharma environment
Good theoretical and practical understanding of assigned process and equipment
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent organisation and communication skills
Ability to work in a timely and professional manner

Extensive knowledge of GMP

Minimum of 4 GCSE passes including Maths, English and Science
Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical experience (desirable)
