Advantage resourcing are currently recruiting a Quality Engineer for a reputable commercial airline, based in Luton.

This contract is for 3 months, with a typical working day being between the hours of 8am – 4pm. They are looking for people to start as soon as possible. Very generous rates of pay on offer.

Job Purpose

The Quality Engineer reports directly to the Audit Delivery Manager within Compliance & Quality Assurance and is responsible for planning and conducting audits and providing regulatory support and guidance functions within both Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) and other operational areas throughout the airlines network as required. This key influential role also supports the airline Quality Assurance Programmes and Safety Management System providing valuable oversight in accordance with the requirements of EASA Part-M, Part-145, Part 147 and Part 21J.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external E&M audits, including maintenance sample audits and aircraft inspections
• Lead audit teams in ground handling, fuel supply, de-icing and other areas of the airline operation, including Environmental Management and Health & Safety / Occupational Risk
• Review applicable standards for each audit and prepare documentation including the updating of audit checklists, where required
• Organise audit opening meetings to ensure that the scope of the audit is fully understood
• Organise audit closing meetings to ensure that audit findings are fully understood by the managers responsible and that timescales for corrective / preventive actions are agreed
• Prepare audit reports for directors and senior management which detail the findings and summarise the audit as a whole
• Review corrective / preventive actions implemented by the auditee and follow-up as necessary
• Maintain accurate and up to date information within the departmental Quality Database
• Analyse and review any E&M audit trends and recommend appropriate actions
• Maintain an effective working relationship with the Regulatory Authority, interfacing as necessary on regulatory and audit matters
• Prepare responses to external E & M audit findings, e.g. from the Regulatory Authority and customers
• Support the principle of ‘Self-auditing’ across the airline, engaging departments and promoting a culture of robust internal regulation
• Take an active role in projects and departmental initiatives as required

Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competencies (including qualifications) required to fulfil role:

• Hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers licence covering large modern transport aircraft (or relevant Engineering Degree)
• Relevant aircraft engineering experience
• Either possess a recognised Lead Auditor qualification or have the ability to work towards achieving this
• Effective working knowledge of EASA Part M, Part-145, Part-147, Part-66 & Part 21J
• Proven track record in building strong working relationships with customers (internal & external)
• Good computer skills with working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK and overseas
• Ability to hold a full UK airport airside pass
