Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist school in Northallerton to recruit a teaching assistant to work with students with SLD. The role will commence as soon as possible on a full time temporary basis, however there is a strong potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The candidate will have a passion for improving life skills of students, and believe in the importance of improving their personal, moral and social development as well as assisting in curriculum based learning. You will be working with small classes of Key Stage 3 and 4 students on a 1:1 and small group basis, so the successful candidate will be extremely personable and approachable.

The ideal candidate will have:

- At least three months SEND experience

- Broad curriculum knowledge

- Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant Qualification (or relevant experience/degree)

- Excellent behaviour management skills

- A patient and caring attitude
