The school is based in the LE3 area of Leicester. The school in question is a 'Specialist SEN School' for children (aged between 4-19 years) with both low and high functioning autism and additional learning difficulties.

The school are ideally looking for a teacher to work with secondary aged students, working with mixed abilities. However, the school would consider a teacher to work with primary aged students dependent on the applicants experience and specialism.

The school are looking for candidates with the following skills:

* Fully qualified teacher (with QTS).
* Extensive experience supporting children on the Autistic spectrum, including those with challenging behaviour and communication difficulties.
* Training and/or experience using Makaton, PECS and other forms of communication aids for students with impaired communication.
* Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
* Confidence to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams including school staff, parents, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
* Some experience working in primary settings.
* Additional qualifications in Team Teach, MAPA, Autism, Manual Handling etc are desirable but NOT essential.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
