Senior Platform 4th Line Support Manager / MS Server / VMWare

Our client is a fantastic 3-year-old maturing start-up which is rapidly expanding and now seeks a 4th Line Architect / Lead Engineer to support its ambitious growth plans. Our client operates a 100% indirect sales model and provides 24/7 fully managed services exclusively via partners having deep relationships with some of the largest VAR's and vendors in the industry. The company is highly regarded by its partners and clients and as part of that continued growth, they are currently seeking a Senior Platform Infrastructure Manager

The company provides a range of 24/7 fully managed cloud-based services and this role is focused primarily on taking ownership of their data resiliency services ie Backup as a Service (BaaS) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) platforms.

The Role

The company provides fully managed data resiliency services based on platforms located in three UK based DC's and is seeking engineers with the following experience.

- Technically own the datacentre infrastructure platform

- Responsible for deployments, management and incident resolution

- VMware - ESXi, vCenter

o Management

o Upgrade

o Troubleshooting

- VMware - NSX desirable (Edge, LDR, LS deployment)

- Windows Server

o Administration

o Patching/Patch Management

o Active Directory

o Group Policy

- Fundamental understanding of networking concepts

- Experience of performing tasks and working within a Datacentre environment (racking servers, cabling etc.)

- Storage Administration (NetApp, Fibre Channel Zoning etc.) desirable

- Experience with replication technology such as Zerto highly desirable

- Experience with backup products such as CommVault, Carbonite or Veeam highly desirable

- Strong documentation skills (diagramming, confluence/wiki based)

- Organised approached to Troubleshooting issues

- Act as an escalation for any technical issues that arise

- Ability to use a Project Task Tracking tool

- Ability and experience in managing task allocation to other members of staff

- Must be highly responsible and organised

- May be required to respond to incidents that arise out of normal working hours and operate as part of an on-call rota

- Must provide regular task updates and status updates to projects and tasks in Project Task Tracking tool

- Experience working within a Managed Services or Service Provider environment desirable
