Location: Hedge End, Hampshire

Salary: Up to �44,000 pro-rata

Job Type: Part Time (20 hours per week)

This is an exciting opportunity to be one of the key team members of NetPay, the business bringing revolution to the UK card payments industry focusing on system innovation and service excellence delivering solutions to the reseller channel. The business is looking to broaden its team to incorporate a legal counsel to support its continued growth and capitalise on the considerable opportunity the business is presented with.

Purpose of the In-House Legal Counsel:

We are looking for an experienced legal advisor (varied degrees of PQE considered) to support the continued expansion of the business providing mostly commercial contract advice and general legal support to the organisation. This role is perfectly suited to an individual looking for more flexible work. The ideal candidate is someone that takes pride in and enjoys being able to make a real difference in a business seeing projects from start through to finish.

Responsibilities of the In-House Legal Counsel:

* Working principally on commercial contracts with our customers and suppliers as well as providing top level legal advice to the board
* Reviewing and providing comments and suggesting changes on various agreements in order to protect the interests of the company
* Drafting various contracts as per the requirements of the business
* Working with the other parties to negotiate and finalise drafts
* Requirement to analyse agreements capturing key points and legal issues and presenting balanced risk reviews and options to the board
* A necessity to be commercially focused mixing legal requirements with the necessity for the organisation to progress and do business
* Liaise with various departments to formulate aspects of agreements where there is an obligation on their area of the business
* Highlight supplier commitments to the various departments of the business for the purpose of monitoring our supplier's performance against their contractual obligations
* Provide general risk management advice to the board and management team as and when required
* Necessity to review potential legal obligations and formulate agreements for business done in other countries, in-particular currently the businesses presented in Ireland (Republic)
* Conduct research as and when required on the various point of law and regulatory aspects that might impact the business

Requirements of the In-House Legal Counsel:

* Some level of PQE preferred
* Excellent legal analytical ability
* Well-structured and organised able to prioritise work and deliver upon commitments and requirements of the business
* Strong communication skills, able to work with a variety of different people at different levels both internally and externally
* Proficiency and experience in legal drafting and reviewing
