Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work in a client school in the Bournemouth area.

* Full and Part Time hours available
* 60-70 per day
* 1-1 Teaching Assistant
* Behaviour Support

The client school is a Pupil Referral Unit in Bournemouth, catering for Secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education. This includes pupils who are temporarily or permanently excluded, and some pupils will also have SEN needs; including Autism, ADHD and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). The pupils can display challenging behaviour.

As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant you will be supporting the pupil outside of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include engaging the pupil in their education, supporting them with their work and managing behaviour. To be successful in this role you should:

* Have experience supporting children or adults with behaviour needs
* Be resilient and confident with behaviour management
* Have a good sense of humour
* Be Team Teach trained (Teaching Personnel can provide Team Teach training)

Many of our 1-1 Teaching Assistants are required to work off-site with the pupils. This would normally be at a library or learning zone and you would be required to transport the pupil. For this work you would need access to a vehicle and would need business motor insurance.

Experience working in a school isn't required; we would also welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in Youth Work, Sports Coaching, Military, Custodial Service and Residential Care.

We have full and part time hours available. The school day is 8.30-4 and this work is term time only.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
