Job IntroductionOur IT Department underpins the operations of Skipton Building Society and allows us to utilise technology to better serve our customers. Looking after the Infrastructure for both Head Office and our nationwide Branch Network, we are looking to add to the Project Management team with a dynamic and experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager.This is a great opportunity to help shape the future of Skipton Building Society through the delivery of a variety of large scale infrastructure projects.Main ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the delivery of technical infrastructure related projects, making sure that they are delivered following the Society’s project management processes and methodology. Managing projectbudget costs and resources along with matrix managing resources across various teams.As part of the role we expect you to foster and enhance strong working relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues alike. This will help when selecting and engaging with third party suppliers to ensure best value is achieved for the Society. Another key part of this role will also be identifying and anticipating operational and regulatory risk and managing these accordingly. You will inspire and engage project team members as well as key stakeholders through the promotion of the Society’s objectives, values and behaviours, and contribute towards our high performance culture. This will be done by challenging, monitoring and championing best practise within the direct Project Management team and wider departments.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successfully delivering technical, infrastructure focused projects from inception to live operation where quality is paramount. You should be comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently, managing predominantly in-house matrix managed resources and occasionally 3rd parties.You will have a strong technical understanding of IT Infrastructure (including LAN, WAN, Firewalls, Storage, Telephony, installation of third party systems and integration with cloud based services) and the Microsoft Product suite. It is essential that you have a formal Project Management accreditation, preferably within a waterfall methodology. Also, it would be highly desirable if you have experience in ITIL as well as an analytical approach with a high level of attention to detail.Finally using your interpersonal skills to develop and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders is key, as is and the capability to translate complex IT concepts to a non-technicalaudience.About Skipton Building SocietyAt Skipton Building Society we are not just another Financial Services Institution we are a mutual organisation, which means we are owned by our members and believe in placing them at the heart of everything we do.
