We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for one of our partnership schools in Southampton. The school caters for young people between the ages of 10 and 19 who have PMLD, SLD or Complex Needs. A significant number of students also have a diagnosis of autism.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will assist in the support and education of children with a wide range of special educational needs and difficulties. The ages of the pupils involved will be with the Early Years Foundation Stage to Post 16 range. All pupils will have severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties but some may also have autism and/or significant physical, sensory or behaviour problems.
You will have the following:
* An excellent understanding of autism
* The ability to work creatively and sensitively with children
* To be able to undertake tasks under direction
* To be able to follow initiative
* The ability to relate to children and young people in a positive and supportive manner
* To have excellent verbal communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
