We are now looking for a Dual Practicing Prosthetist/ Orthotist, to work as an integral part of our specialist team based at the Rehabilitation Centre in Charing Cross hospital.

About the Dual Practicing Prosthetist / Orthotist:

Focussing predominantly on Orthotics, the successful candidate with also provide some Prosthetic service in the centre. This is a great opportunity for a Prosthetist/Orthotist to further develop in their clinical career and gain exposure across both disciplines, working closely with a strong Multidisciplinary Team to deliver the very best care to a variety of patients. The role would really suit an experienced orthotist, who would also like to gain experience in prosthetics to further develop as a dual practicing clinician.

Working in a busy specialist rehabilitation centre, you will have the opportunity to work with a complex range of patients, contribute to ground-breaking R&D projects and use the latest technology including CAD CAM and a Gait Lab as clinical tools to support your work.

The successful applicant will be a forward thinking Prosthetist/Orthotist with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, managing the individual patients' case, to deliver the most appropriate and effective treatment.

They will provide and promote a high standard of prosthetic and orthotic care and treatment across a range of amputation levels and patient pathologies ensuring best practice is always applied.

The Prosthetist/Orthotist will maintain up to date knowledge of available components and products, and have a good understanding of their functions, to ensure well-fitting prostheses and orthoses. They will be flexible and innovative in their approach and work to the highest professional standards, with care and integrity, to maintain our excellent reputation, ensuring full patient satisfaction and subsequently achieving the rewarding duties of this unique role.

Requirements of the Dual Practicing Prosthetist / Orthotist:

Applicants will be degree qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics and will be HCPC registered (graduates who are awaiting confirmation of registration can still apply). A D&BS check will be carried out for the successful applicant and any job offer will be dependent upon the results thereof.

Ideally, candidates will be experienced in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics post qualification. They will have the enthusiasm to deliver an exceptional patient led service and further develop and progress with an excellent employer.

We also welcome applications from recent graduates who have some experience of working in a busy centre. We have a structured graduate training program in place to support your transition from academic study to practical application in a working role.
