SHEQ Manager- Hampshire- c�50,000

A world leading chemical company, based near Southampton, are currently recruiting for an SHEQ Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

The role holder will implement and maintain elements of the plant management system, including those systems necessary for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18801, the site MAPP and other site and corporate policies. You will be the Emergency Duty Manager for the Management of Major Accident Hazards and ensure Health & Safety support for the site. The role will encompass acting as the prime interface for HSE/EA and other Regulatory Authorities, as well as ensuring compliance with COMAH and site standards.

You may also manage Centre of Excellence programs or processes (i.e., such as personnel safety, industrial hygiene, environmental safety, compliance) and you will work with leaders to identify SHE priorities and programs for the area managed.

The candidate will give feedback with regards to changes needed for local compliance, communication or business relevance and develop location or business group specific programs to address local needs. You will ensure that required monitoring of operations or industrial exposures is in place. The role holder will provide technical leadership and functional guidance for health standards promulgated by regulatory authorities and keep informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations and ensure compliance in areas managed. You will review metrics, trends and actions with leadership teams.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Degree (or equivalent) in occupational safety, environmental, health, or a related field with 8 or more years’ experience in field of business. You will have proven ability to lead, develop and implement programs and processes. Primarily you will work independently but may have direct reports at certain times. You will be accountable for SHE compliance, projects and results in area supported. The role holder will also have an element of budget responsibility. A relevant qualification in safety related discipline and 5 years’ experience in a safety management field, especially Process Safety would be highly advantageous. Experience working in a Top Tier COMAH environment would be a distinct advantage

This role is based near Southampton and is commutable from, Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport, Southampton, Basingstoke, Salisbury and Bournemouth, as well as other locations across Hampshire and Dorset.
