A lovely special needs school in Southgate are currently seeking a support worker.

As a support worker you will be assisting students in KS1 with autism and complex needs. Each pupil has a tailored Education Health Care plan that meets their needs.

Each class caters to 8 pupils with three support workers. This role requires lots of 1:1 intervention and the ability to use your own initiative as you will be managing small groups of students. Understanding of PECS and Makaton techniques will really benefit in this role as some students rely on non-verbal forms of communication.

Applicants considered for this position will:

* Have a passion for supporting students with special educational needs
* Can interact with students and build rapport
* Able to use their own initiative when needed
* Previous experience working as a support worker
* Degree in PE, Psychology, Sociology, Health and Social Care
