Nottingham City Homes has been awarded Landlord of the Year at the 2018 UK Housing Awards and manages more than 27,000 homes across the city on behalf of Nottingham City Council. Our vision is to ‘create homes and places where people want to live’. All of our homes have reached the decent homes standard and, as part of our ‘Building a better Nottingham’ programme, we are building hundreds of new council homes – the biggest programme of its kind for a generation. At Nottingham City Homes, we offer an excellent benefits package with a minimum of 25 days’ holiday, flexible working, training and personal development, an additional holiday purchase scheme, lifestyle benefits, childcare vouchers and a defined pension scheme (company contribution on average is 16%).
Nottingham City Homes is looking for a suitably qualified joiner to join the staff team. Naturally, you will have experience in a repair, maintenance and contract environment, including assessing and inspecting jobs, updating records and great customer service skills.
You will hold advanced knowledge of joinery to carry out all aspects of joinery work including 1st and 2nd fixing and repair work, major refurbishments, glazing, fencing, window installations, flooring, shuttering and roof work on both commercial and domestic properties. As this is a cross trade position, knowledge and first-hand experience of completing works in other trades would be advantageous.
You will be responsible for the ordering, collection and efficient use of materials. As part of your daily duties you will be required to complete documentation including orders, timesheets and PDA/Electronic reports.
You will have experience of operating necessary portable power tools and working safely at heights using ladders. Ideally you will hold a current CSCS Health and Safety card and a suitable qualification such as City & Guilds Advanced Crafts or NVQ 3. Additional qualifications in other trades are also desirable due to the nature of the role.
You will bring an organised but flexible approach and the ability to meet deadlines.  A full UK driving licence is essential.
Closing date:  7th February 2019. This may be subject to change based on volume of suitable applications
