Full time, position commencing as soon as possible for a teaching assistant with SEMH experience at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Oldham. Teaching Personnel is working in co-operation on with a PRU located in Oldham. The setting provides education for pupils who are out of mainstream education for a variety of reasons which may include: SEMH needs, temporary or permanent exclusion, emotional and behavioural difficulties, medical reasons, pregnancy and young mothers.

The role will involve working in collaboration with a classroom teacher to support their holistic development of pupils with SEMH. At the moment the position is initially temporary in the first instance, however there is an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate. The main aim of the setting is to integrate pupils back into mainstream education wherever possible. Due to the specific needs of the pupils it will be ideal for the teaching assistant to have a considerable amount of experience working with pupils who show signs of challenging behaviour.

The ideal teaching assistant will have:

* Experience working with and delivering interventions to pupils who display challenging behaviour
* Desirably Team- Teach trained (Teaching Personnel provide training)
* An in-depth understanding and awareness of the needs of pupils with SEMH
