This post, linked to the Quality Committee, is a wonderful opportunity to work alongside the Chair, other Non-Executives and Executive Directors to inform, deliver and develop our approach to delivering high quality care to create “a great place to be cared for, a great place to work”. Are you ready to lead pioneering change across a healthcare system?

Non-Executive Directors work alongside the Chairman and Executive Directors of the Foundation Trust Board to advise on the development of strategy and to oversee the performance of the hospital, bringing independent and objective judgement to bear on issues of strategy, performance and resources.

These posts will also be a key part of the oversight and assurance to inform our approach to developing a Strategic Transformation Plan to work across Health and Social Care in Cumbria and Lancashire.


To succeed you will require substantial strategic, board-level leadership experience in a comparably complex organisation, with a track record of achievement in your chosen field. You will need the ability to network and to influence agendas at a local, and regional level, demonstrating a commitment to continuously improving standards of quality and experience, and recognising the dedication of staff and volunteers. You will also need high level governance and organisational skills gained in a regulated environment.

The post will require commercial experience within a large complex organisation, along with experience of working with finances, a proven track record of delivery of successful Change Management including having project managed major projects.

Remuneration will be £12,000 per annum for a minimum commitment of 3-4 days per month. This may be during the working day or in the evening.

The selection process for this post will include
• an informal meeting with key stakeholders, which will take place in late March-early April 2019 and;
• for successful candidates formal interviews, which will take place on the 30th April 2019.
