Press Brake Setter/ Lead Hand
Salary: ££ Negotiable dependant on experience
Location: Birmingham (Smethwick) West Midlands
Working hours: Permanent, full-time. (2pm-10pm shift) Monday to Friday
Our client manufactures an exciting range of systems for the construction, automotive, acoustic and audio markets, exporting to numerous countries around the world. They are a leading manufacturer of engineered facade and roofing systems to the architectural sector, complemented by a comprehensive range of fasteners, load bearing components and accessories. They have full in-house testing facilities, as well as 3D design and engineering analysis and also produce a broad range of acoustic mesh and perforated components for the automotive, architectural and audio markets, specialising in visual imaging on facades as well as aesthetic diffusion and absorption solutions.
THE ROLE
General day to day tasks will be to oversee the Shear section provide material to the Press Brake section in a timely and suitable manner utilising sheets for the best monetary return. Providing the section with a cutting schedule and monitoring that work is completed and hit rates are achieved.
Provide the Press Brake section with work schedule, liaise with morning shift lead hand to ensure all work for the day is completed in a timely manner, and monitor hit rates.
Ensure that quality of work is of a high standard across both sections, that all employees adhere to the quality policy and all checks are documented.
Predominantly your working day will involve you to set operate and manufacture with the use of varying press brake machines steel and aluminium products for the building and construction sector as a part of a full offering of building envelope solutions for various projects across a multitude of industries.
Depending upon workloads across the section you may be required to work the Shear section guillotines.
CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience setting & Operating Press Brake machines ( Bystronic & Edwards Pearson machines advantageous but not essential) and either has experience of supporting or leading a team in a manufacturing environment- Knowledge and Experience of sheet metal industry would be beneficial.

- Experience setting and operating Press Brake Machines essential
- Experience supporting or leading a team in a manufacturing environment highly desirable
- Fork Lift Licence advantageous but not essential
- Ability to support guillotine operation benefice but not essential
- Knowledge and Experience of sheet metal industry a distinct advantage
