Job IntroductionIf you’re an experienced auditor who loves multi-tasking and meeting new people or perhaps you're looking for your next move as an Assistant Audit Manager, we’ve got just the job for you. You’ll be part of our third line of defence, making sure our operations are working within regulatory frameworks across Skipton’s entire Group of companies in the UK, Guernsey and New Zealand.Main ResponsibilitiesWe usually deliver up to 70 audits every year, which means you could be leading two to three audits at any one time. There’ll be lots of talking, listening, fact finding, delivering reports and coaching Audit colleagues. In this role, you’ll get to see every part of the diverse Skipton Group. Although you’ll be based in Skipton, occasionally you will be working at a subsidiary company away withSkipton. This usually is for spells of no longer than two weeks at a time. In return you'll get a daily allowance of £100 in addition to travel and subsistence expenses while you're away, with the chance to enjoy various destinations across the UK, Guernsey and occasional visits to our offices in New Zealand.On a typical day you’ll be meeting with a variety of stakeholders ranging from customer advisers to theCEO. And once you’ve found your feet you’ll be leading and coaching newer members who join the team. Ideal CandidateIdeally you will have a professional qualification (such as IIA, ACA, ACCA or CIAS) andexperience in financial services audit. You will have a strong academic background and are likely to be educated to degree level. We are looking for people who have experience of delivering either conduct, prudential or IT risk focused audits. You therefore should have a sound knowledge of financial services regulation and have a strong motivation to keep up to date in this continually changing field.You’ll be used to juggling a few audits at once, with the ability to provide constructive challenge if yousee something’s not right - so you’ll need to be a great communicator who’s resilient, calm, composed and motivated to get the job done, with an ability to stand your own ground when the need arises.About Skipton Building SocietyAt Skipton Building Society we are not just another Financial Services Institution we are a mutual organisation, which means we are owned by our members and believe in placing them at the heart of everything we do.
