This Bradford based 'larger than average' school requires a Bi-lingual Teaching Assistant to support their Key stage 2 pupils. As an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will be providing support on a 121 or small group basis to help raise the attainment levels of pupils, in particular with, written English, spoken English and reading.

Experience working as a teaching assistant, in a UK primary school is essential, as well as a relevant and recognised qualification to at least level 2. The school has a higher than average proportion of EAL and needs extra support to ensure they have the opportunity to progress.

The school has a 'Good' Ofsted rating and are aware of the areas they fall short in and are actively working to make the necessary improvements. The Headteacher has a great vision for the school, which is shared by Governors and staff. The pupils are very respectful to each other and are always keen to learn. The staff in the school put a lot of effort into assisting pupils and families to overcome any barriers to learning.

About the role:

* ASAP start date
* Working 1:1 and also in small groups with KS1 pupils
* Full time and on a long term basis
* Possibility to become permanent if agreed by Head teacher
* Giving accurate handovers to the Teacher and/or carers of the child at the end of your day

The successful candidate will need to;

* Be fluent in Urdu and/or Punjabi
* Support pupils' learning of English as an additional language, tailoring support to match the learner's needs.
* Provide SAT's support and numeracy and literacy interventions
* To support students to become independent, co-operative and collaborative learners.
* Contribute to assessing students' progress and support them in reviewing their own learning.
* Identify and remove barriers to students' learning.
* Adapt and customise curriculum materials.

TEFL Qualification is desirable but not essential.

The majority of your work will be in the classroom, although you may be involved in lunchtime supervision, outdoor activities or accompanying pupils on school trips.
