Our SEN Team are seeking an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SENTA) for a full time role at a special school in Bradford.

Our partnering client is situated in Bradford West and benefits from good links by public transport in addition to easy access by car from local areas.

The school hold specialist status for Communication and Interaction and this is a key aspect of the work that they do. Pupils attend from 3-16, and join school with a wide range of challenges in their lives. Presently, the school has pupils with Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, complex medical needs, Downs Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Physical Disabilities, and Autism. All children have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) and 94% of pupils have additional Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

You will work as part of a dedicated team of teachers and Learning Support staff whose aim is that all pupils become confident as individuals, responsible as citizens and successful as learners. You will play a key role in supporting young people to develop lasting friendships with their peers whilst sharing their learning journeys. You will have the ability to foster a passion for learning and will encourage pupils to respect themselves and others as they strive for excellence in all that they do both academically and personally.

Previous experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs is essential. You must have a working knowledge of differentiating learning activities to meet individual pupil needs. Additional training in Team Teach, Intensive Interaction, PECs, Makaton and/or Theraplay is also desired.
