We have an excellent opportunity to join the team at Sodexo as a Regional Business Development Manager; this role will be based in the south and will cover other brands within Sodexo, Centreplate, Peyton & Byrne and Heritage Portfolio. This exciting new role will work as part of the UK MICE team, taking responsibility for strategically managing a portfolio of accounts south of Birmingham and to the South Coast. Working with the wider Sodexo sales team this role involves developing, maintaining and servicing the allocated account base and working with the wider management team who will support the accounts. We are looking for a proactive sales professional that can actively search for new business and build relationships with these customers to drive profitable sales revenue into Sodexo.

Main responsibilitiesThis exciting new role will work closely with the Head of Sales to create and execute a sales strategy to drive growth and provide our customers with a motivating and exemplary sales experience. Building a pipeline of future business opportunities, you will create a strategic action plan for all key accounts and key prospect accounts, discussing the progress of these with the Head of Sales monthly. The role involves key sales activities such as presentations to future prospects, familiarisation trips and working to revenue production goals. Conducting sales-trips focusing on strengthening existing and building new relationships this role will deliver increased account penetration and revenues from specific geographical markets with a particular focus on the corporate and agency markets. This autonomous role will work to the UK Sales Strategy whilst promoting a high performance sales culture across the Conference and Events sales team, ensuring targets are reached. Key to the success of this role is to develop relationships with all internal sales stakeholders to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some iconic venues across region, within a global business.
Ideal candidate
Excellent business relationship skills
Proven success in achieving sales targets
Previous experience in venue sales
Commercial acumen
Detailed knowledge of the events market in the region
Strong personal industry networking including corporates and agencies
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to create excellent client relationships
