Technical Manager (Asbestos) - Wakefield

Salary - Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.

Due to an increasing workload our client are currently seeking to recruit a Deputy Technical Manager to join their team.

The firm provides a full range of environmental services for local government, housing associations, universities, schools, national retailers, NHS trusts, the hotel and leisure industry, demolition and construction companies, manufacturing, logistics and commercial businesses.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, the role involves the operational management of asbestos site analysts, surveyors, laboratory analysts and administrators. In addition, the role requires proactive development of the existing team including auditing, training and performance management.

Experience/Skills

The candidate will hold as a minimum BOHS P402 (or RSPH equivalent qualification) and have:

Previous experience of asbestos consultancy within a UKAS accredited company, project management and site work is essential along with relevant industry qualifications BOHS P402, P403 and P404 (or equivalent).
It is also envisaged that the successful candidate will hold the W504/S301 or will go on to obtain the qualifications and will be developed to achieve COCA status.
The successful candidate should also demonstrate the following experience:
People management and first rate training skills
A good working knowledge of TEAMs (or similar)
A good understanding of health and safety legislation in relation to asbestos
Commercial acumen is a must along with the drive and ambition to grow sales in line with set targets
A full driving licence
Experience of working on a range of Microsoft packages is also essential
