The Role

As a Junior Technical Support Engineer your responsibilities will see you need to work outside of business hours when required and duties will include -

Diagnosis and troubleshooting technical issues
Prioritising and managing several open issues at one time
Referring to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions
Development of software, in line with given requirements
Ensuring the quality of development work
Following defined development and testing processes
Documenting technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals

Qualifications, skills and experience

Educated to degree level in a mathematics-based subject
Java (JEE, JSE), Spring, Hibernate, MySQL, Maven, Git and Java Application Servers
Knowledgeable with web architectures and services (HTTP, REST, JSON, etc.)
Familiar with relational database concepts and SQL
Experienced with Bash/Python scripting and Linux
Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Desirable to have worked autonomously within an agile environment
Preferable to have experience with test automation frameworks
