Framework Manager - Rail

"A rare and exciting opportunity to take the reigns as a rail civil engineering Framework Manager in the Wessex region, working for a firmly established company looking to add further management expertise to oversee fast paced rail asset management contract and separate tendered projects."

Location

Basingstoke

The Company

This tier one Rail Civils contractor has built a solid reputation for delivering small to medium sized projects on CP5 (recently awarded significant CP6 contract) as well as high volume schemes on asset management and minor works frameworks. The business has profited from strong leadership over the last few years taking turnover from 75m in 2011 to an impressive 300m+ and operate without any of the red-tape and bureaucracy that you find with some of the larger contractors. If you are looking for an organisation that will reward and encourage your development, empower you to make decisions and make things happen then this is definitely the contractor for you! To further encourage the growth of the business in the South West, Wales and Wessex regions they are looking for you as Framework Manager to provide leadership and management expertise to ensure profitable delivery of the regions rail asset management and tendered projects.

About the Job

You will be responsible for the regional asset management framework which includes a portfolio of day to day, low value and high turnover works as well as regional tendered projects. You will be responsible for ensuring effective delivery of such schemes to the agreed budget and deadlines with a key focus on safety and quality. You will be a central figure in managing the regional site teams (Agents/Site Managers etc) overseeing the budget, programme planning, procurement, compliance, tender and project handovers and overall commercial engagement with project stakeholders. The work in the region consists of a diverse range of civils and rail related maintenance projects including typical minor works/asset management such as embankments repairs, bridge repairs and maintenance (grit blast/paint/parapets), tunnels maintenance and repair (brickworks and associated infrastructure), culverts, signage, handrails, de-vegetation etc.

The Ideal candidate

The nature of this role and works, the fast-paced environment and heavy workload lends itself towards the role being best suited to someone that has worked in the same or a similar environment for a rail contractor involved in asset management frameworks. If you have a track record in a rail contracting environment as a Senior Project Manager, Contracts Manager or Framework Manager, managing a portfolio of diverse rail civil engineering schemes then this could be the role to provide you with the new challenge and motivation you need to further enhance your career and reputation in the rail industry.

You should be articulate and must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role with strong leadership qualities, commercial and contractual astuteness, client liaison and management, a keen eye for Health and Safety and the ability to motivate the team to maintain productivity.

Salary and benefits

- Circa 65,000 To 75,000 salary plus package including car or car allowance, healthcare, pension, life assurance etc.
