An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent HR Officer working in Barrow in Furness.  The area is perfect for people wanting an active lifestyle with easy access to beaches and the Lake District. The housing is second to none and very reasonably priced.  The role is also commutable from the M6 and the surrounding areas with one of the most scenic journeys in the country.  The Council offers a great benefits package and a generous pension scheme.  We look after our employees and offer a place where people are proud to live and work; a better quality of life.  This is a challenging role with responsibilities across all aspects of the HR function.  The role is varied and will include providing professional advice and guidance to managers on recruitment, performance, sickness absence and development as well as the opportunity to be involved in, and lead on, a variety of
projects including policy development and implementation. The post is offered on a full-time basis of 37 hours per week. We are looking for someone with integrity and approachability, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  You will need to be a great team player and have experience of influencing and working with people at all levels. The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.  The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information and advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
