About the Junior Shipping Clerk:

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates to join our London Office, Logistics Department. We have two vacancies in our Logistics Department; one in our Intermodal Section and one in our Equipment Control Section.

Previous experience in Logistics is not required; on the job training will be given; Suitable for school leavers. In addition, there will be opportunities to progress within the company as well as develop your career in the shipping industry.

Responsibilities of the Equipment Control:

* Maintain and monitor container daily movements in global MUI system.
* Provide Empty Container Inventory Report, Damaged Report and Depot Policy for all UK and Ireland depots and terminals.
* Control and release of empty equipment in inland depots or terminals according to requirement from Intermodal section, Customer Service Department or Area Offices.
* Organising empty or damaged container repositioning in UK and Ireland.
* Reporting and controlling idle or damaged containers in UK and Ireland.
* Verifying and processing of depot and terminal invoices, pass to FIN/AC2 for payment promptly.
* Control and monitor Off-Hire or misused Containers.
* Monitoring of specialised and shipper owned containers.
* Control and release of sale of containers.
* Providing equipment control statistics volume or other reports to Section Manager.
* Resolving inquiries by e-mail and telephone with Customer Service Department, Area Offices, European Logistics Centre (ELC) and Taipei global head office.
* Damage prevention and cost control handling toward Liable Parties chasing as well as insurance and claim settlement.
* Conduct regular on-site visits of depots to assess/perform physical security checks.

Responsibilities of the IMS:

* To liaise with approved Haulers, informing them via MUI System about all import and export jobs for the UK, excluding Scotland.
* To resolve customer complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
* To check and approve all Haulier and feeder operator invoices and pass to Accounts section for payment.
* To log non-conformances and compile statistics on suppliers' performance on a weekly and monthly basis.
* To book empty moves as required by LOG ECS.
* To control and charge to customer additional Haulage charges and laden storage incurred according to UK Inland Tariff.
* To ensure suppliers are following all security procedures, including the monitoring of seal usage and visiting supplier depots when necessary.
