Job Description
A System Design Engineer is required for the Typhoon Diagnostics Products Team, focussing on all phases of the Development Life Cycle. Primary responsibility will be to maintain or create design and documentation requirements for the Engineering Support System Tablet (ESS-T) applications, this may also be extended to supporting or taking ownership of additional capabilities and projects from initial concept to implementation.

The System Design Engineer's key responsibilities are summarised as follows:
- To support the System Design activities for the ESS-T product in the design, documentation and development of new or existing System functionality in line with locally agreed plans and procedures.
- Support the Diagnostics Team in performing the required Safety Analysis activities.
- Manage and perform liaison with external suppliers and end users as required.
- To manage requirements analysis in order to ascertain the needs of the customer, this will require making presentations and running/supporting meetings with the relevant stakeholders.
- Support the Diagnostics Team in establishing strategies to deal with product route maps and obsolescence.
- Support Training and Technical Publication provision.
- Hold and support LCM reviews of designed functionality.
- Manage System Design liaison with software programmers and end-users during product development to ensure satisfactory product implementation.
- Manage System Design liaison with the ESS System Design Team to ensure full integration of the ESS-T product with its host ESS capability.

As the role involves proactively engaging with internal stakeholders, Customer and Suppliers, the candidate needs to be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Some exposure to AGE and / or Typhoon / Tornado Avionic / electronic systems would also be an advantage but not essential.

A degree of on the job training will be provided to the successful applicant to cover specific internal processes. Other areas that would be beneficial are:

- Aircraft support/maintenance/diagnostics experience
- Experience of conducting on aircraft trials to qualify / demonstrate new equipment capability
- Knowledge of change management and configuration control
