At Teaching Personnel we work with a range of schools providing teaching and support staff, we are working closely with a school based in Southall - currently looking for a full time SEN teaching assistant. The role will involve providing one to one support to a student with challenging behaviour in year 3.

The role?

The full time role will involve working within this two form entry school. The close knit community school has created a school and family community incorporating all areas of the students lives. With it receiving a 'good' Ofsted rating they are striving to push each and every student to achieve. You will be working within the classroom with the class teacher to create a calm and positive learning environment. This particular student struggled to concentrate within the classroom and needs some consistency to push him to focus and achieve. The student you will be working with does have delayed learning, needing structured educational support alongside emotional guidance through social interaction.

The school?

The two form entry school has an extensive SEN department with over 50 students with special educational needs. They have created a school that focuses on the importance of social inclusion and diversity, embracing students and staff from a variety of backgrounds and abilities. Based in the heart of southall they have engaged with the local community.

The school is a 15 minute walk from Southall train station, connected by multiple bus services.

Ideal candidate?

SEN experienced - ideally challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health difficulties

Team teach trained, or willing to undergo the training

Willing to become a part of the school community
