Salary: Salary £28K upto £40K (totally dependent on experience) together with an excellent flexible benefits package

The company:

Our client is looking to appoint a new Permanent Structural Engineer to join the Leeds office. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning the commercial, retail, residential and industrial sectors.

Structural Engineer

Candidate Duties:

- Structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
- Technical lead on projects as and when required.
- Prepare high quality technical reports including dilapidation reports and due diligence structural surveys
- Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages, including CSC Fastrak, Tekkla, Building Designer, TEDDS, to back up reporting tasks.
- Carry out hand calculations for checking and scheme purposes
- Ensure that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports, calcs etc) is always maintained.
- Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives.
- Work on projects of various sizes and complexity including offices, hotels, large housing developments, retail etc.


A degree in Structural Engineering essential.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum of 4-8 + full relevant years' Post-Graduation experience essential working in a consultancy (UK based experience to be 4 years minimum recent)

- Varied experience in all the common forms of construction and building types.

- Chartered or near Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE) depending on No of years' experience.

- Varied experience in all the common forms of construction and building types.

- Experience of working in a Consultancy is ESSENTIAL

- Experience of assessing existing structures is essential.

- Excellent report writing, communication and numerical skills required.

- Experience in working on listed and historical buildings would be advantageous.

- Experience of structural analysis design and analysis software essential.

- Experience of work on large projects, offices, hotels, housing developments etc.

- Use of Eurocodes & British Standards is essential.

- Full clean driving license.

- Excellent, positive, reliable work ethic is essential.
