The Company and the Role:
The Company is setting a new benchmark by combining local produce and a table service restaurant.
They are currently seeking a permanent Commis Chef for their restaurant just outside Aldermaston, someone with a passion for good food that is ready to continue developing their career.
The restaurant is table service with a full menu served from breakfast till lunch with cream teas proving to be very popular throughout the day. All food is cooked fresh to order and the emphasis being on good quirky presentation using seasonal ingredients.
All meals are prepared daily in their kitchens using fresh meat, fish and seasonal produce. These are sourced from their own farm shop on site but also use where possible, local producers and suppliers.
As Commis Chef you will be part of a strong team that thrives on the pressure of working in a busy food operation. You will be a proactive team member who is happy to support in all areas of a busy kitchen as required

Key Features of the Role:
Working with an ever changing fresh and vibrant menu.
You will need to be a special Commis Chef, somebody with a sleeves roll-up attitude and a desire to succeed as an important member of the team.
Working under a very talented Head Chef and the team who will give you the necessary guidance that will increase your ability and knowledge of the catering industry
Working in various sections of the kitchen including food preparation, afternoon tea, sandwiches/paninis, larder and breakfast sections
Keeping section clean, tidy and organised
Following instructions and procedures given by the kitchen management team
Producing menu orders keeping to our specifications
Ensuring high standards and quality is met
Adhering to food safety requirements

Knowledge and Skills:
Be an existing Commis Chef with some experience at the same level.
Familiar with all current legislation regarding food hygiene, safety, risk assessments etc.
A great passion for cooking and shows great enthusiasm to learn.
Used to working with fresh, seasonal ingredients ideally obsessed with British cuisine.
Have a 'can do' attitude and ambition to progress your career.
Possess excellent communication and team skills

What's on Offer?
Salary range �18,000 - 20,000 depending upon experience and trial shift results
