Due to a rapid increase in business within both the public and private sector, Cemetery
Development Services Limited (CDS) is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our in-house
team of specialists.

Based within the English Heritage grounds of Wrest Park in Silsoe, Bedfordshire, CDS is the
UK's largest cemetery and crematorium design and development company with a current
project portfolio value of �50 million.

About the role

- You will be working on a range of projects for both the public and private sector, which
are focused on cemeteries, crematoria and in the near future, sports facility and public
realm design and developments.
- Work on projects from inception to completion, to include site visits and liaison with
clients, consultants and contractors along with the design and preparation of concept and
detailed plans that conform to an agreed brief.
- Preparation of supporting information for planning submissions including LVIAs, EIAs,
Policy and Need Assessments and Design and Access statements.
- Preparation of planting plans and schedules and landscape management plans.
- Preparation of illustrative, qualitative and quantitative documents used in the tendering
process.

About you
- A degree and/or a post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline is required.
Chartered Membership of Landscape Institute is not essential but would be advantageous
as would 2 to 5 years' experience.
- All-round skills and expertise, including design flair and technical competence.
- Experience in working from concept design to detail with strong graphical representation
and supporting documentation.
- Familiarity with the design, tender and construction processes and have experience in
delivering/working on projects efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively, articulate ideas and communicate effectively both orally
and in writing with an internal team as well as external parties.
- Proficient use of AutoCAD and Adobe software along with 3D design BIP software such as
Sketchup.
- Many of our sites are located in remote locations so a driving license and car would be
beneficial/is essential.
