Job IntroductionA fantastic opportunity has arisen in the Operational Resilience team, focussing on the embedding and management of Health & Safety activities for the Society Head Office and Branch Network. This exciting opportunity to join the growing Operational Resilience department as an Operational Resilience Health & Safety Consultant, will give you the opportunity to work with and establish a wide network of stakeholders and influence Health & Safety best practices across the Society.Main ResponsibilitiesThe role will see you: -Supporting colleagues across The Society with their Health, Safety and Wellbeing needsTrain as a First Aider & support First Aid IncidentsSupport Fire SafetyWill see you complete Branch Visits to carry out annual Health & Safety AssessmentsSupport the development of software applications and automation of existing processesDevelop Management Information to support the reporting to Health & Safety CommitteeIn addition to Health & Safety, being part of the wider Operational Resilience team will see opportunities to cross skill and develop including and not limited to:-Exploring Society processes, working with the teams to review and determine their criticality aligned to our strategic initiative of putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.Supporting Work Area Recovery Site testing, this enables us to test to ensure we are prepared should we encounter any issues or find ourselves in a “stress scenario” Ideal CandidateWe are looking for individuals who are highly organised and are able to adapt their workload to ensure all work is achieved on time. The successful individual will be able to work well as part of a team and also as an individual using their own initiative to make decisions. You will have effective listening skills, using this to interpret customer and business requests. You will also have experience following procedures and policies.  We are looking for an individual with a willingness to learn and proactively manage their own development. The ideal candidate will have attained their NEBOSH National General Certificate or NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Health and Safety or has been working in a Health & Safety environment and is willing to study for these qualifications. As our successful candidate you will report into the Operational Resilience Manager here at Skipton Building Society.This role would be brilliant for someone who’s always ‘on it’ (and you will need to be on it!), because it’s fast-paced and never dull.
