Industrial Design Engineer – Cambridge – New Product Development

A growing product design organisation are currently looking for an Industrial Design Engineer to help with the creative design of brand-new technologies. Based in Cambridge, you will be leading the development of new products with the support of a team of industrial designers and human factors designers.

Apart from your support team, you will also work alongside physicists, mechanical engineers, electronics engineers and other highly skilled individuals who help with the invention of brand-new cutting-edge technologies and products.

The projects you will work on will range across a number of different sectors including, but not limited to, medical devices, life sciences, oil & gas, consumer products, energy and other complex sectors. Ideally you will have worked on the design on a number of different products across a number of different sectors and have a portfolio you could share.

Due to the unique challenges you will face in this role, moving from sectors on a regular basis, I expect a lot of people to be interested in this role. So ideally you will already be working as a Industrial Design Engineer or Industrial Designer.

As you can imagine, it is expected you would hold a Product Design, Industrial Design or Human Factors Design degree along with a number of years of industry experience. If your work experience has been within a university environment instead, we may be interested if you were still working on commercial projects.

This is a challenging role that will improve your abilities on a daily basis. Apart from the work, there will be training available to continually develop your career, an excellent starting salary, benefits package and relocation allowance (when needed).

You will interact with third party and internal members of staff, so communication skills to showcase your work will be essential. A lot of the work you will provide will be on wearable and hand-held devices so any showcasing of this in your portfolio or CV would be advantageous.

I expect a lot of interest in this role, so if you are looking for a challenging and developing role, I suggest you make an application now.
