SALARY & BENEFITS: Permanent role- Salary Negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications. 

WORKING HOURS: Full time, Monday to Friday. Weekly rotating shit pattern 06:00-14:00 hrs / 14:00 – 22:00 hrs, Permanent.

Their main depot in Peterborough is immediately filling a strategic role and we encourage those who may be qualified to apply. Working within the Supply Chain Centre based in Peterborough there is an opportunity to join their team in a full-time, permanent position immediately: 

Warehouse Shift Manager

As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that operational efficiencies are consistently maintained, delivering necessary changes to key personnel and operational staff, whilst ensuring company policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to. We are looking for someone to support the senior leadership team to shape and manage the structure, culture and behavioural values to ensure that the warehouse is well placed to accommodate the demands of current and future business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities to include:

• To lead, motivate, supervise and develop the supervisory team to ensure that they are effective both in terms of our policy and procedures, as well are our commercial obligations to the customer.
• Daily management of Operations Supervisors and wider team, through planning resources to ensure activities on shift are achieved.
• Ensure optimum business efficiency is achieved at all times through maintaining adequate staffing levels and effective roster management, including the approval of annual leave and managing absence (i.e. sickness), and authorisation of overtime with justification. Accurately recording all time and attendance on the company system in a timely manner.
• Support staff daily brief, detailing current day’s workload, any specific communication points and allocate duties as necessary.
• Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and oversee working practices ensuring temperature checks, equipment checks, correct stock rotation etc is maintained
• Ensure that performance, attendance and general misconduct is monitored and formally addressed via the appropriate procedures where appropriate.
• Ensure daily and weekly KPIs are met and report results to the Operations Manager at the requested frequency.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the roles: 


• Previous management experience ideally gained within a multi temperature environment, with a strong background in food service logistics
• Demonstrate good people management skills, leading by example and able to engage with colleagues at all levels
Ability to handle pressure in a time sensitive environment 
• Build and manage relationships with external business contacts and customers 
• Be computer literate and have knowledge of warehouse management systems
• In depth understanding of Health & Safety legislation
