Site Operative
Reporting to: Yard Manager/Supervisor
Competitive weekly pay & benefits.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 08:00hrs till 17:30hrs
(Overtime Available) Every Saturday from 08:00hrs till 12:00hrs.
A certain amount of flexibility is required.

H Ripley & Co Ltd – Hailsham depot are recruiting for site operatives.

Experience not necessary, however having the right attitude and plenty of enthusiasm is.

This would suit someone who enjoys working outside in all weathers

If you have any tickets for operating forklifts, 360 material handlers
are an advantage. A full car driving license is advantageous.

Daily tasks include.
 Being courteous and polite to all customers of the depot.
 Tidying the yard walkways and ensuring good housekeeping when working on a specific work station.
 Using small hand tools, to remove ferrous contamination from non-ferrous metals.
 Following safe system of works and risk assessments when tasked to carry out manual tasks.
 After the 13-week probationary period receive training to operate balers and shears or join the metal shredder team.
 Escorting customers and or visitors through the yard if required by request by the yard manager or supervisor.
 Being aware of your surroundings and being safety conscious with regards to managing your own health and safety and of others.
 Liaising with the weighbridge team, when grading and or completing small scales tickets.
 Reporting dangerous occurrences, and near misses to the yard manager and or supervisor.
