The Client

Our client is a not-for-profit regulatory body in the transport industry based in Central London who require a NAV 2017 Support Engineer to join an existing team of highly proficient engineers. Applicants will need to have the requisite communication skills demanded by a regulatory organisation.

The Role as a NAV 2017 Support Engineer

We are seeking a 2 nd Line Support Engineer with extensive experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP. Having recently implemented NAV 2017, our client is looking to increase their internal application support function within the enterprise systems team with a focus on the day to day support of the system for the finance team and business. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the wider application estate but will hold central responsibility for the ERP system, being an integral part of any planned future upgrades or migrations.


* To be the responsibility holder for BAU support and further delivery of the Navision ERP system
* To act as the key resource to assist the finance team in day to day operations of the Navision ERP system
* To support and assist general users in understanding and embedding the Navision ERP system
* To act as Liaison between the supplier and users to manage all support calls
* To assist in the delivery of further identified project work and small works BAU items.
* To assist in the provision of 1 st line Desktop / 2nd line technical IM&T support (Desktop, Software, Infrastructure, Telephony and AV) where required
* To quickly gain an understanding of the functional areas within the organisation and an appreciation of the nature of the industry
* To act as a support resource for the wider application estate to include Dynamics 365, SharePoint intranet, office 365.
* To carry out all tasks associated with managing change control for internal enterprise systems and ensure due process is followed and upgrades or changes are delivered in a controlled and effective manner.
* To co-operate with the internal operations team to manage day to day aspects of all internal enterprise systems.
* To manage calls within the internal helpdesk system and ensure these are dealt with inside of relevant SLA's
* To constantly seek to improve own skillset to enable further development and benefits realisation within the existing and future application estate

The Nav 2016 Support Engineer Candidate

* 3-4 Years' experience of directly supporting Navision ERP in an application support role

* Experience with Navision 2016 + Version essential
* Core financial processes (Purchase Orders, Invoicing, sales invoicing etc)
* Key configuration and set up data (Dimension Values, Resources)
* Job Accounting
* Security and permissions set up
* Workflow
* Standard reporting
* Time sheeting
* Rapid Start

* Significant experience of working within an IT application support desk function managing calls and process between suppliers and internal users
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to interact with a diverse user community conversing in non-technical language to enable understanding between the technical and business functions
